The Impact of Covid-19 on Asylum Seekers

Australia: “The government’s policies have been uncivil in the extreme. And they’re not accidental, they’re quite deliberate.” Throughout the pandemic, asylum seekers have faced mass unemployment and homelessness, with many families becoming reliant on charities for food to survive.  Experts warn the governments denial of support to asylum seekers could not only lead them to lack basic necessities but could have serious mental health consequences in both adults and children.
