Baqir is 28 years old and is originally from Afghanistan. He studied sociology in Kabul Education University and leadership development at Toastmaster International. He worked for four years at a public library and founded a book organisation in Afghanistan. Since becoming a refugee in Thailand in 2017, Baqir has co-founded the Bangkok Urban Community club as a refugee-led organisation to empower refugees and asylum seekers as well as to advocate for the rights of refugees and asylum seekers in Thailand.
